Dr Mathew D Hoskins is a Consultant Psychiatrist living and working in Cardiff, in the specialties of Traumatic Stress and Psychiatric Intensive Care.

 

He is an expert in the pharmacological management of PTSD, with studies commissioned by the World Health Organisation and the International Society for Traumatic Stress Studies.  He is currently the Principle Investigator for an ongoing clinical trial of MDMA-assisted therapy for PTSD in Cardiff.

Dr Hoskins has an interest in the emerging evidence base for the use of psychedelics and cannabis in the treatment of mental health conditions; in 2021 he was the first clinician in Wales to use psychedelic ketamine therapy.

Dr Hoskins has worked in a variety of community and inpatient settings as a Consultant Psychiatrist, and can offer private assessments for patients with a diagnosis of trauma, anxiety, depression, addictions and ADHD to discuss whether they may benefit from Cannabis-Based Medicinal Products (CBMPs).

 

Dr Mathew D Hoskins is a founding member of Cannabis Clinic Cardiff, is a founding member of Cannabis Clinic Cardiff, set up in 2021 to help address the unmet needs of mental health patients who may benefit from a prescription of medicinal cannabis.
